Rod’s mastery of Chardonnay really comes to the fore. On initial look the wine is a little tight with flinty reductive notes surrounding a core of punchy grapefruit, but as it opened up these dissipated and softened to reveal an underbelly of creamy, nutty tones and a touch of nougat. The palate is balanced and refined with citrus and white peach giving way to a rich savoury mid palate and creamy textures, this all comes to together in a balanced, well weighted finish. Drinking really well with a bit of air but will cellar well for at least 3-4 years.
