The ripe grapes used for crafting Mount Fishtail Pinot Noir were hand picked from the estate’s scenic vineyard in Wairau Valley. Poured into a glass, the resulting red wine displays a bright ruby colour with purple tinges. As you swirl the glass for a whiff, lifted aromas of cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit please your nose. Enhanced by a backdrop of clove and white pepper notes, the perfumed bouquet seamlessly leads to a fruity palate containing sweet red fruit flavours. Hints of savoury spice complement these flavours, integrating with fine grained tannins and zesty acidity to culminate in a lengthy finale. The cellaring potential of this wine is 5 years. Serve it with spicy lamb dishes, roasted vegetables or pasta.
