This is Duhart Milon’s second wine, located in the epicentre of the world’s most amazing and expensive red wine district, Pauillac. The vineyard is lodged in between its famous neighbours, Mouton and Lafite Rothschild on the Carruades plateau.
The grapes have been selected on the same basis as the “Grand Vin”. The main difference is that they are from the younger plots in the vineyard. Moulin de Duhart has several characteristics like the grand vin, but with a little less new oak used so It can be consumed younger than its more robust counterpart.
Deep red colour and although still young it already reveals beautiful notes of fresh fruit and tobacco. The palate is subtle and delicate, with loads of layers, you can see how this wine will develop of the years to come. There is already cassis, cedar. Liquorice and tobacco notes present and the tannins are refined and give a hint of sweetness on the long finish. Keep this wine closed for another couple of years and then drink it till 2035.
