Full, even, black-hued ruby-red colour. The nose is elegantly concentrated with aromas of ripe blackberry fruit intermixed with black plum and raspberry essence, revealing underlying blackcurranty notes in the glass. Medium-full bodied, well-ripened, up-front, sweet and lusciously fruity flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries and raspberries feature on the palate. The fruit is supported by a harmonious, supple tannin structure and fine, fresh acidity. The moutheel is integrated and smooth, and the flow enhanced by the juiciness of the fruit, with the depth building on mid-palate. The flavours are carried to a long, lingering finish with bright acidity and hints of bitter cherries. This is an up-front, juicy, black-fruited Merlot with a harmonious mouthfeel. Match with barbecued and roasted red meats over the next 4+ years. Estate fruit fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 25% new French oak.
