The estate-grown grapes from 118-year-old vines were open-fermented, basket-pressed, and the wine then spent 20 months in new American and Baltic oak. The colour is deep and the palate full-bodied, with multiple layers of blackberry fruit that have
largely absorbed the oak. The wine has the balance to age for many decades under the security of a screwcap, and will only improve.
