This Pinot Noir is from the Village appellation of Savigny-Les-Beaune in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy and renowned for a lighter delicate red-fruited Pinot. Hand picked grapes are fermented in open topped vats and the wine is matured in new oak barrels for 18 months.

Deep ruby red with purplish tints, the nose has aromas of red fruits (raspberry and gooseberry) with smoky and toasty notes. The palate is clean with flvours of fresh fruit , oak and vanilla. The tannins are tight and vibrant.

Worth a try as an alternative to NZ Pinot Noir!
